The British Love Affair
With winter behind us, we are bursting with colour, keep an eye out, among the cow parsley, dandelions and tulips cultivating in the hayfields. It’s the time to reflect our own interiors with the delicious technicolours we are seeing, and bringing the outside in.
Green is the colour of the year for 2017, with the keys designers using the colour in there fabrics. This colour communicates peace, balance and harmony. It can rejuvenate and restore, giving the feeling of being connected to nature and feeling safe and secure.
Fabrics, paints, and wallpapers which have a more yellow base in the green, communicates refreshing, new life, new beginnings. Who better expressed this fabulous colour scheme is Sanderson’s ‘Art of the Garden’.
Consider combining your green tones with complementary colours, such as reds, which you can take into the pink tones. The key is to use colours that are in the same tonal colour group.
The key to a successful interior is to always use colour with purpose. Look at the environment, the atmosphere and decide whether the green is right for your room.
Remember, green works everywhere, just simply bringing in plants into the home, will bring positivity, energy and reconnects with nature.
